Three examples taken recently from the crystallography newsgroup sci.techniques.xtallography illustrate its powerful facility to circulate opinions and discussion topics as well as queries and solutions:

This general crystallographic discussion usenet newsgroup was created on the 14th October, 1993. It has a homepage at http://www.unige.ch/crystal/stxnews/stx/welcome.htm.
For those people without direct newsgroup connection sci.techniques.xtallography may be accessed via email. Subscribe to the mailing list mirror by sending an email message to sci_tech_xtal-Request@xtal.cmc.uab.edu with the instruction subscribe in the body of the text.
